Welcome to the Florida State University Ørsted Satellite Research Project!

Ørsted is the first Danish satellite which carries five science instruments to map the Earth's magnetic field and measure its associated high-energy charged particle environment. It is named after the Danish physicist Hans Christian Ørsted who discovered electromagnetism in 1820.
